University Campus, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal.
On behalf of the Central Department of International Relations and Diplomacy (CDIRD), we are proud to share the successful completion of the Simulation of UNHRC Negotiation on the Rohingya Crisis 2025, held in conjunction with the formal launch of the Wing for Applied Diplomacy and Negotiation (WADN).
We begin by extending our heartfelt gratitude to Tribhuvan University, especially to our Vice Chancellor, Rector and the Registrar’s Office, for their unwavering support, encouragement, and belief in this initiative. Your leadership has been instrumental in enabling both the launch of WADN and the execution of this high-impact simulation. Your commitment to academic innovation and real-world engagement continues to inspire progress within our university.
The launch of WADN represents a proud milestone for our department. With it, we move a step closer to bridging the gap between theory and practice, equipping our students with practical experiences in diplomacy, negotiation, and multilateral dialogue—core competencies for the next generation of global leaders.
A special thanks to our support partner, the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA), for graciously hosting us and extending logistical support, even on short notice. We deeply appreciate the leadership of Ambassador Prakash Suvedi, whose vision guides IFA’s collaboration with academic institutions, and the invaluable assistance of Mr. Sanuraja Puri, whose support ensured smooth coordination throughout the event.
We are equally grateful to our generous sponsors: Himalayan Bank, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, WorldLink Communications, and Global IME Bank. Your belief in the importance of applied diplomacy and your partnership have been essential—not just in making this event possible, but in helping bridge the academic and professional sectors of international relations.
We also wish to recognize Ms. Binita Nepali, Ms. Sumi Sharma, and Ms. Shweta Karki for their dedication, which shaped this program from vision to successful execution.
A defining highlight of the event was the presence of two of Nepal’s most respected diplomats:
Ambassador Gyan Chandra Acharya and Ambassador Shanker Das Bairagi
As we move forward, CDIRD and WADN remain committed to creating platforms that foster experiential learning, strategic thinking, and real-world engagement in the field of diplomacy and international relations.
Thank you to everyone who made this event a success
